Q: What’s a moonshiner? A: Someone who makes a type of alcohol called Moonshine illegally in their own house. This alcohol is very dangerous because it often contains something called methanol. Methanol is poisonous and can make us blind or kill us even if there’s only a little bit of it.
Q: What effects can smoking marijuana have on my body and my mind?
A: Just like other types of smoking, marijuana can cause lung cancer if it's smoked often enough. It causes lung cancer just as much as smoking cigarettes would. It can also make it hard for you to concentrate and remember things if you smoke it regularly. These effects can last for years, even after you stop smoking marijuana. The more often you smoke marijuana, and the longer you've been smoking it for, the worse these effects will be. Scientists haven't figured out if these effects are permanant.
Note: Be careful what you read on the internet about this. There are a bunch of sites that don't have truthful information about the effects of marijuana.
A: Quitting is not easy, but there are a bunch of ways people can quit smoking! Some people might try just stopping, some people might use Nicorette gum or patches, or some might try slowly cutting back. You should go the the nursing station and ask how they can help! They can help you come up with a plan and suppot you along the way.
Q: If a mother is breastfeeding and drinking alcohol, is it bad for the baby?
A: Yes it is. The alcohol can go into the mother's breastmilk and the baby will end up drinking the alcohol. Alcohol is very bad for babies because their brains and bodies are growing.
